For the LynxLoppet skiers are split into just two classes, Varsity and Junior Varsity. Enter their ‘position’ in the spreadsheet in the usual way, with a1, a2, a3, etc. for varsity skiers and b1, b2, b3, etc. for Junior Varsity. Each team is limited to seven Varsity boys and seven Varsity girls. Junior varsity is unlimited for the Friday race. All skiers will start on Friday with traditional individual starts with four skiers at 30 second intervals. Friday night, start lists for the pursuit on Saturday will be generated from the results. Coaches do not need to submit any further information for this. There are 4 races the second day. BoysV, BoysJV, GirlsV, and GirlsJV. Only the top 100 get to ski in each class. January 23 Kenai Klassic: Kenai Wolverine Course: January 23rd, 2009 Varsity & JV Boys: 9K SKATE Race Mass Start Varsity & JV Girls: 6K SkateRace Mass Start Coaches Meeting: 1pm Kenai Golf Course in the parking lot. Will hand out bibs, course maps, and go over start information. Waxing: Please come with glide wax already on skis. There are no inside facilities at the golf course, please have your bus stay on site. Kick wax will have to be put on outside. Port-a-potties on site. Race Start Time: 11 am Race Format: Skate, mass start. Varsity Boys at 11:45 am, five minute hold and then JV Boys. Varsity Girls at 11 am, five minute hold and then JV girls. If all the JV boys finish in less than an hour, we will try to start the girls at 11 am. Boys will do two 5K loops, girls one 7.5K loop. JrHi race 2 pm. Scoring: Scoring is based on time. The time for each racer’s individual race is combined to determine the skimeister, the top ten in each event and the All-State
Team. The team scores are based on the times of the top four finishers in each race. That score is added to the relay score to determine the final place finish of each team. Awards: An awards ceremony will be held following each day’s results. Medals
for the top ten racers overall and the top three racers in 2A/3A classifications will be presented. Following the final day’s competition, team awards,
skimeister, All-State Team and Good Sport Team awards will be presented.

Individual Awards:
• Medals for members of the first and second place teams overall and top 2A/3A teams both boys and girls.

• Good Sport Tee-shirts and certificates for one boy and one girl from each team of five or more selected by their coach.
• Certificates for the top ten boys and girls from the skimeister ranking and recognition as the All-State Team.
